This Tuesday: Buncombe County Commissioners Meeting 8/19/25--arrive by 4:30 PM
Fighting for our campus. Fighting for our community.
What We’re Funding
We are raising funds for campaigns that the UNCA administration refuses to support, including:
Save the Woods – Stopping the destruction of our campus forest for private development.
Trans Housing Defense – Ensuring trans and nonbinary students have safe, affirming housing on campus.
Freedom from Surveillance – Resisting the installation of AI-operated security cameras that threaten our privacy.
ICE-Free Campus – Preventing any collaboration between UNCA and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Student Rights Advocacy – Pushing back on administrative actions that silence progressive voices, cut DEI initiatives, and fire pro-student staff.
Why We Can’t Rely on University Funding
UNCA funding comes with strings attached.
The administration controls the budget process and uses it to limit what student groups can say or do. They will not fund actions that challenge their decisions — even if those actions are in the best interest of students.
By raising money independently, we can: Act quickly without waiting for bureaucratic approval. Speak truth to power without fear of budget retaliation. Build a movement that belongs to the students, not the administration.
